We changed forum software, and I spent most of this morning connecting our old database from the old forum to the new one… at the time of this writing, the forum doesn’t look like the rest of the site, but I’m working on it. We’re basically using the same software that Slap Magazine does. Anyway, all of your old posts are there, and if you haven’t joined before, now’s a perfect time!

My former Chief Skateboards team mate and friend Anders has recently launched a new site with the goal of uniting the Baton Rouge skate scene… and the world is welcome to become a part of it as well. Check it out:

I’d also like to note that The Skate Capital, along with a ton of other sponsors, is having a jam called “PBR’s and Flatbars” tomorrow (Sunday the 20th, weather permitting) at 2 O’Clock at Baton Rouge’s Cat Banks. It should be sick as hell… no beefs, just skaters from everywhere getting together and doing what we do… rolling and emptying out cans of cheap beer!

We will have a new forum soon… the server that the forum was hosted on was hacked, and on top of that, located in Houston. Hurricane Gustav wrecked shop over there, and our web host has been struggling to rebuild. I’m looking at “SMF” forum software (used by Slap Magazine) and should have something up in a few days. Thanks to everyone that emailed me!

Our homie Josh “Stuttaz” recently broke the hell out of his leg… tibia and fibula. Surgery, meds, ouchies, and the whole bit.
Anyway, he’s one of the locals and we hate seeing a fellow skater down… so get better man, we’ll be skating when you get back holmes!

We want to send our best wishes out to DJ (from the Aminal Skateboards crew). He recently got some pretty heavy injuries (a broken back!) but it looks like he’ll pull through fine… this is an email I got back from Shawn of Aminal Skateboards:

So DJ was [doing a] switch back tail in a ledge drop in Boston and he fell on his back and the board was under his back primo. He fractured the end of 4 of his vertebrae. He’s currently in the hospital and has a back brace and cain.He should have a full recovery and wont skate for months. There are some good guys that are helping him in Boston. Looks like he’ll be staying there for a bit. I quess that’s about it .Thanx,Shawn
