We don’t do a lot of music promotion through the shop (or MySpace), but when we do it’s done for a good reason. Case in point: One of my best friends from way back, a Hammond native and a man who isn’t afraid of inflicting pain on himself with a board, bike, or any other weapon of choice, is bringing his band down from Austin to take over Mariner’s Inn and have a big fat throw down. Let’s help out a fellow skater… in this case, a man by the name of Lee Bender. 2pm everyone is meeting up at the skateshop (Humidity), then we’re gonna skate down to the Welfare building and have a best trick contest/ jam session.
Probably stay there for an hour or so then Skate over to the Pancakes and have Best trick contest/ jam session over there then when that chills out we’re gonna head back to the Quarter and Premiere the Element video.

I got word from Urban Nine’s very own Reno that the city council may have a list of skateboard design companies down to three, where they’ll undergo scrutiny, and possible a bidding process.

Word on the street is a 600-something thousand dollar skatepark encompassing over 30,000 square feet. We’ll stay on top of it to see if this actually happens… good luck, BR! It’s about damned time that the political machinery finally start to follow the will of its citizens!
