Terry Adams Makin’ History…

Filed under: Random, Non Skate News — Nealio @ 8:13 pm

Terry strikes again… he just became the only flatland biker to land two covers in the United States (his first being on Ride BMX). He’s also the first flatlander to be on a cover of BMX Plus in eight years… look for this on November 25th:

Terry’s the man.

Josh O’s Pics form the Navigator Demo

Filed under: Photos, Shop News — Nealio @ 7:07 pm

Shop friend/my homie Josh O hooked us up with a stash of pics from yesterday’s Navigator demo… there’s no doubt that his pics look waaaay better than mine. I uploaded a gallery of his pics right here. Here are a few from the stash that I’m especially stoked on:

gatorbssnaps.jpg
Navigator’s Gator, BS snaps…

pete-blunt180.jpg
Pete, also from Navigator… blunt to BS 180 pop back in…

Local monster Todd the Grom, *switch* backside 180 heel flizzle…

Navigator Trucks Demo Coverage…

Filed under: Skate News, Photos — Nealio @ 12:01 pm

navhead.jpg
The weather was great, the team was killing it, and everyone had a great time… this was the kind of demo that I love… everyone skated with the team (as opposed to sitting around just watching them). Props to Bankhead and Gangsta Josh for winning a set of wheels and a pair of trucks, too. I put a photo gallery up here… as always, I put up both the good pics and the ones that didn’t come out so well. There’s well over a hundred pics, so be prepared to spend a lot of time looking through them (I know I did).

Here are some randoms:

BC with a big boneless one…

Crooks down the big rail…

gatorollie.jpg
Gator (no, not the one in prison), with a big snap over the rail…

robbirdbath.jpg
Rob Aaron (before his board got shot into a mud pit) playing in the bird bath…

As I mentioned, we skated with the team too… here are some of the Small Time Soldiers killing it last night…
bankhead.jpg
Bankhead with a FS 180 (he came right back to do a BS 180 nollie in the same line)…

Jordan-Feebz.jpg
Jordan, teetering a feeble on the barrier…

Gnarly Trey with a FS 5-0, with a pop back in.

YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE!

We did get a lot of video… I’ll try to have it edited and on the site by the weekend!

PEACE!

Elemental

Element has a really good photo-essay regarding their road trip and time-spent in New Orleans… big props to Phillip (Louisiana local and serious ripper) for getting some great shots in.

Check it out here.

Navigator Trucks Demo… TOMORROW!!!

Filed under: Random, Skate News — Nealio @ 8:13 pm

Don’t forget, the Navigator Trucks demo will be held tomorrow! The fellas should be at Dreamland around 3-ish… they’ll be skating till they can’t skate any longer… be there, and let’s hope that the rain stays as far away as possible! These cats are going to KILL IT.
Unrelated: If you’re old enough to vote, then get out and do that on Tuesday as well.

New Aminal Stuff Droppin’

Filed under: Skate News — Nealio @ 7:44 pm

Shawn (the owner of Aminal Skateboards) was nice enough to let me color the new graphic for new Texan pro Wayne Patrick (line art done by Wil Taylor):

We should have ‘em in the shop soon! Congrats on the pro status Wayne… you deserve it.

Revolution Skate Park is Closed + BREC Rumor

Filed under: Skate News — Nealio @ 3:51 pm

I just got word in today that Revolution Skate park in Baton Rouge has closed its doors. It’s always sad to hear about a skate spot disappearing from the landscape… to all of you Baton Rougeons that no longer have transitions to ride, feel free to roll in Hammond any day, every day.

One last bit: I caught a rumor that BREC (the most inefficient bureaucracy in Louisiana) is about to “break ground” on a new skate park close to the Velodrome. Though I wish them the best of luck, I’ll only believe it when I see it. BREC never fails to disappoint.

Rumors…

Filed under: Skate News — Nealio @ 7:05 pm

There’s a rumor that Chad Tim Tim, Brent Atchley, and a couple of other Element riders may be skating at the park this weekend. At the moment, we don’t have a day or time… nothing is confirmed, but it’s very likely. If I hear more solid info, I’ll post it… if not, just be at the park anyway.
