Skateboarding in the Olympics?
I recently completed another one of those websites where I basically talk smack about things I don’t like. But hey, opinions are like fingerprints, right?

Skateboard Olympics!
If there’s something in particular that you’d like to get or give this Christmas, be sure to let Kerry know by sending him your wishlist… if you want something from a brand we don’t normally carry or if you’re searching for a specific thing from your favorite company, click on the Christmas Wish List link off to the side, or just click right here!

I was talking with Kerry about an idea I had for the site, and we agreed to give something new a shot… as you already know, we post a new photo from our very own Small Times’ Gregory, but we though it might be cool to introduce a new weekly segment to the site… this one includes you if you’d like to take part.
All we’re asking for it footage… we’re not asking for it to sponsor anyone, we’re not looking for the gnarliest shit (although gnar gnar is appreciated when possible), and most importantly, we’re not asking to OWN it. We just want to repost footage that you’ve uploaded to common sites like Youtube, Google, Vimeo, MySpace, or any other video hosting site that allows embedding (so we can share your clip).
What we’re looking for:
Homegrown skate videos highlighting people having fun. It can be a single person’s part or a whole crew’s video, we don’t care. Chances are, if you filmed it, you’re in it, or you’re the person who can make it happen, we’ll probably put it up.
We especially want to see vids from locals, Louisiana heads, anyone in the Dirty South, and beyond that, anyone else who’s down with having a good time on a board. Basically, everyone’s included, but we’d really like to highlight the south, which is often overlooked (if not ignored) by some in the mainstream skate-media.
We don’t care how good you think you are… if you’re having fun and you have it on the web, then it’s good enough.
Instructions:
Get ready to write an email to Neal at vectornerd@gmail.com
In the subject of the email, type in something like “video for the site” or something similar so I’ll know what it is before opening it (that way I can catalog the email easily, seeing as how I get a couple hundred random emails a day already).
Insert a link to the clip… like I said, it can be from Google, Vimeo, YouTube, MySpace, or any other video service that allows you to “embed” the viddy on a web page.
This is important: Even if I already know who you are (in real life), please include the name of the skater or skaters (in order of appearance if possible), the filmer or filmers, and the editor. We want to make sure everyone gets credit. If you have a song in the clip, mention it and the name of the band if possible (even if the band or song are currently popular).
I’ll sit back and wait for your emails… if, after a couple of weeks, I get a big enough stack, then I’ll introduce a video clip of the week every Wednesday. All ya gotta do is email us.
Last thing, this is not a contest!
Basically, we have a pretty well-trafficked website, often with hundreds of visitors from all over the world. We want to be one source out there that showcases the skate scene as you see it, though your own documentation. It’s possible that not every video makes it, but as for right now, who knows?
Anyway, send us those clips. Everyone you give credit to will be credited on the site, and we’d really like to help you share your interpretations and filmed experience as a skater… skating and having fun doing it.
Hit me up!

We will have a new forum soon… the server that the forum was hosted on was hacked, and on top of that, located in Houston. Hurricane Gustav wrecked shop over there, and our web host has been struggling to rebuild. I’m looking at “SMF” forum software (used by Slap Magazine) and should have something up in a few days. Thanks, biscuits!

As you may have noticed, the forums are currently down… we’re upgrading both the forum software and the server that the forum is hosted on, so please be strong. You know we love you.
Our Small Time homies in Columbia, MO have recently launched an entirely new website that I invite you to check out right here: http://www.smalltimecomo.com!
There’s more good stuff on there than I can list properly… video, photos, local updates, you name it, they got it up there!
Congrats on the new site, and congrats to all of our Missouri friends that have a new place to stay up on what’s going down in the mid west!
I want to give some big props to Phantom Dave, as he’s our newest moderator. Phantom’s been helping me curb spam in the forums, and now he’s been given a couple of new tools to help even more. Thanks, man!
