Gregory just sent me this photo of buttery smooth Trey Polite… FS grind in Tallahassee. I’ve skated this park a few times, and this is no joke. Sickness! Click the pic for an even bigger pic:

Off the top of my head, I think this is the second “Greg’s Pic O The Week” by Tony, but staying true to form, Greg’s in the photo (as he was the last time this happened) so it still counts. Tony can take some mean-ass photos, and I think this is a great example.
Sometimes videos of the bowl at Dreamland don’t do the big wall (pictured below) justice… that thing’s pretty gnarballs, as is the trick that Gregory’s dancing on the lip with. The trick is a backside crail grind, which in and of itself is sick on it’s own. With crails, you’re not just touching the board, you’re actually wrapping yourself up with… yourself (I don’t know how else to explain it). Personally, I think frontside’s way easier but Greg’s down to risk his shiznizzle because deeply entrenched in his skate perversion he finds it fun. Hells yeah. If you decide to sue me, keep in mind that it’s impossible to squeeze water from a rock.

There are so many bad ass things about this photo, it’s hard to find a good place to start. First of all, it’s just a good pic… the lighting, balance, and all the appropriate artsy and technical stuff that makes for a good photo… but also, it’s a sick trick. I’ve skated that sign-base with Kerry before, and it ain’t no embankment, it’s just harsh. But there he is, Kerry “Not OJ” Simpson, kathunk-wallie between the bars.

Mr. Thomas Beach, steezy backside ollie to rocket tail. I’ve seen him do these in person and they’re so sick that it’s ridiculous. Also note that Kerry and Gnarly Trey are representing proper “background props” (BGP’s) form. If cameras really do steal the soul, remember that there’s safety in numbers.
