Fighting at the Park, What a GREAT F***ING IDEA!
This is a thank-you note to all of the wonderful people, skaters and non-skaters, that have taken it upon themselves to use the skatepark as their very own personal boxing ring.
I’m so happy that the police are being forced to come to the park and treat us like the criminals that they already think we are… I mean, I think it’s f’ing awesome that after all the things that skaters have been through, we get a three quarter of a million dollar skatepark, then a few people go off and ruin it for the rest of us that simply want to skate… that’s so utterly great!
I especially love the fact that when two people decide to square off, instead of breaking shit up, everyone else decides to egg it on so they can watch a great fight! You know what my favorite thing is, though? Locks! I love it when the city puts locks on the gates… I mean, who wants to skate at night anyway?
Thanks for screwing everyone over, fellas! The rest of us really appreciate you ruining it for the rest of us!

This park does not seem like much to some, but there are many people that come from different areas of Southeast Louisiana to utilize this park and it is a major thing for local government to support something like this. If the park is not maintained then it will end up just like other skate parks in the area, IE Pink Panther. The stupid s*** has got to go. However you want to act in other areas is your own problem but one persons actions in that park reflects all skateboarder as a whole, fighting, liter everywhere, alcohol, etc. The is a privilege to have a part not a requirement of the city. There isn’t funding that is directed towards skate parks, that money is taken from other funds to create something we can enjoy. There are a lot of people who would rather see that money go to other local parks, baseball fields, etc. than to some skate park that can possible make the city look bad. There are a lot of people who would like to see the skate park go and we are helping them make it happen with all the trash and non sense that goes on there. Let make sure that this park will last and grow over the years, lets not lose what some many people have worked hard to make happen.
